General Practitioner Registrars and Medical Students
Our practice is a training and teaching practice. We have a number of Trainers who undertake the training, mentoring and development of Registrars, Foundation Year 2 Trainee Doctors and Medical Students.
Our Registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience. Registrars are usually attached to our practice for 6 to 12 months and patients find their fresh, enthusiastic approach adds to the health care we provide. The Registrars usually become GPs after completing their training. There may be occassions when they are required to seek advice from their clinical supervisors or more experienced GPs in the practice.
We also teach Foundation Year 2 Doctors, 1st/3rd/5th year Medical students and Pharmacy students. The Foundation Year 2 students are usually attached for a four-month period. Dr's Bamford and Lund (was Hewitt) are Foundation Year 2 Trainers. Visual recordings of consultations are used for teaching purposes. You will be asked to sign for consent before being filmed. Rest assured, all films are erased after use.
When booking an appointment you may be asked if you would consult with one of our Registrars who are excellent Doctors, appointed by the practice. We are confident that they will give our patients modern, effective caring treatment.
